Many may scoff at the Lord and His promises, from His beautiful plan of our redemption through belief in God’s forgiveness by His own son, Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross and resurrection from death to life, to His promised return and judgement. The why is a wonderful expression of God’s nature.
We learn that God’s delay is not about an inability to follow through or slowness to take action, rather, it is God’s patience and loving-kindness that causes Him to give us a chance to change and turn to Him. God’s heart is that He doesn’t want anyone to perish. He’s a kind and good father who wants to make every opportunity for us to accept His loving gift of eternal life.
It can sometimes seem like God takes a long time to act, perhaps to bring judgement or justice to a situation, but trust that He knows exactly what He’s doing. He loves you and made you in his image. Count your blessings, give Him thanks, and put your trust in Him today.
