Sometimes it can be difficult to allow others to speak into our lives, but if we embrace the wisdom God is trying to impart, fruit is sure to come. In nature, we see that even plants and trees have to be pruned in order grow and maintain optimal health. Earlier in the week, a friend made a profound statement along similar lines...
When we look at the book of Acts, we see men who were beaten and put in prison for their faith in Jesus. What did they do? They rejoiced and sang praise songs to God! In America, life in general gets a little hard and we think we are out of the will of God, or we did something wrong.
Our perspective can use some adjusting. God's purpose is not to make our lives comfortable, but to make our lives healthy. He desires that we would walk in close relationship with Him so that we can begin to know the will of God, and the heart of God.
Every once in awhile, we need someone to remind us to not sweat the small stuff and to stay the course. We also need someone to check our blind spots because we don't know what we don't see. I used to often hear the phrase, "stay on the operating table, because God ain't finished with you yet". This is a great reminder of how we need to live life.
Keep moving forward, keep an open heart, and stay teachable. Often, the end is far greater than the beginning.
