Sometimes experiencing the best God has for you can't happen until you let go of control.
In the western world, we are taught independence and self-reliance as being the best way. We like the idea of being "in-control" because it creates a feeling of security and a sense of predictability. This idea, however, can lead to self-love and self-preservation, above the needs of others.
The reality is that if we are really honest, being "in-control" is only an illusion. The only thing a person truly has any control over are the choices he/she makes.
Circumstances, on the other hand, are less predictable, and can change in a moment...in the blink of an eye even.
The truth is no one was created to be entirely independent or autonomous. You were created for community, you were created for family. (Need I remind you that you did not arrive on this earth without the help of at least two other people?)
Jesus said that there is no greater love than a man laying down his life for his friend. He also did this by dying for us, those He loves.
God is really the only one who is in control and who knows the end from the beginning. Lay down the control and place it in His hands. Let him guide and direct you into His best. Trust Him, and find true life, and true joy. He's really good at leading. I understand He's been doing it for a very long time. :)
